In the 20th century the Lawrence company's products were underappreciated. Today's collectors value them, though, and especially in their hand carved formats that are magnificent.
Recently I heard from a descendant of the last Lawrence to operate the company who was Bill Lawrence III. Time will tell what new info this chap will be willing and able to provide about he Lawrence family and the company it is known for.
IMHO theirs was the finest hand carving in all of holstory:
Only the carving on a Lawrence and a select few Heiser was able to cast its own shadows!
