A collector FOH (friend of holstory) donated these images of gunleather made by today's reincarnation of El Paso Saddlery that closed instead in 1902. Even the founder of today's company, Bobby McNellis, knew it isn't the old company at all, but a name he liked and didn't have to pay for in '78 (as he did for S.D. Myres' machinery and other tools). The company knows I know and has not ever denied my finding :-).

I reached out to them via their website's email system before publishing the First Edition of Holstory but was ignored. Really, this is an example of why no true book of holstory had ever been published before mine: having worked closely with JB for his book in '78 and Roger Combs for his in '84, and my failed attempt to enlist the support of the industry for one in the '90s, I knew that the industry treated all such with hostility. That's the beauty of Holstory: it was built from independent research that exposed the half-truths and legends spread by all the makers vs. blindly perpetuating them as all authors before me had :-).

Read more in my book titled "Holstory -- Gunleather of the Twentieth Century -- the Second Edition" that is available at www.holstory.com and printed for you/shipped to you in USA.
