Restored Post 19: Seventrees' Catalog in Living Color

Updated: Nov 14, 2022

There is lots more to Paris Theodore's legendary gunleather line than is in his only catalog that was for 1969. Indeed my copy is missing two pages that I know of including the one for his horizontal shoulder holster that was a more polished design than the horizontal's inventor, Chic Gaylord's. Paris' was much copied by other NYC makers including line-for-line knockoffs by DeSantis.

I find myself as interested in the people and history surrounding a brand as I am in their products. For example, Paris' first wife was a product of Broadway and this was her first husband, Yoram Kaniuk who was a celebrated Israeli author (see Wikipedia):

And 'their' wife, Lee Becker who is in the Internet Broadway Data Base as Lee Theodore even today:

We know that the intersect between Lee and Paris Theodore is Broadway, and the stage is a linkage with Chic Gaylord who was part of that scene, too. Somehow that led to Paris wanting to compete with Chic? Because Paris was more spook than holster maker but put Chic out of business in 1967.
