There have been varying references to the origin of E. E. Clark's gunleather company but this one takes the cake:

Since 1919 while "Over 38 Years" then tells us this medallion/sticker was issued by 1957.
Not a coincidence that in 1959 Bucheimer-Clark was created by Clark's sons (with the Bucheimer family). Previously though the Clark origin was vaguely "1920s".
In 1917 Clark appeared in his draft papers as a leather worker, and in the 1920 census as a saddler in a saddle shop. He married in '23 and his five sons followed in short order.
